OK, well maybe I haven’t quite attained private jet status yet, but I am still living the good life and that means that I get to travel. Sometimes for FREE!!! One of the BEST ways to travel for GRATIS is by stockpiling all of those great hotel and airline points. But how do you keep track of who happens to be giving the MOST points for a trip that you’ll be taking?
I’m going to let you in on one of my secrets for getting the most out of my flightes. Lately I have been checking the Mile Maven website. It’s where you can plug in where you’ll be flying from and to and it tells you which airline is going to give the highest amount of points for that trip. Of course you should still be looking for the BEST price on the flight, but what if it’s a business trip and the company is paying for it or there’s an airfare war going on and all of the flights are about the same cost?
Mile Maven will tell you not only how many airline points are available for the trip, but it will also let you know if there are any bonus miles for signing up for alerts, etc.
I plugged in a trip from West Palm Beach, FL to Providence, RI since I haven’t really made up my mind how I’m getting up there in May. Here are the top 3 points promotions that Mile Maven had for me:

Not only that, but they also have a program called Points Maven where you can do the same thing with hotels.
I just think that this is a great way to get the most bang for your traveling buck. Why not be able to take 2 or 3 vacations for the price of one just by maximizing your points? Hmmm….I wonder if I CAN get a deal on a private jet? Now THAT would REALLY be living the good life for less!
