As a former actress, and drama teacher (I worked in the Arts in Education program for the RI State Council on the Arts MANY years ago, as well as at various schools), I’m often appalled at the lack of arts education in the school systems around the country. What used to be an integral part of the education process is now considered a luxury, with fewer and fewer schools offering arts programs.
When I hear of organizations offering such classes I feel that it’s my obligation to tell you about them. If you live in or around the NYC area and would like to see your children involved in theater Broadway In and Out is offering their fall workshop’s and theater schedule beginning September 25th. This program allows children to study with current Broadway actors and to learn acting skills from the best of the best.
Each of these workshops is priced at $165 per person and begins first with a 3-hour workshop with a Broadway professional at 9 a.m. This is followed by lunch at Planet Hollywood and a ticket to see the featured musical. This is geared to students aged 10+. they’ll learn music and choreography from the show and get the opportunity to talk with Broadway professionals about theatrical careers. They’ll also have an opportunity for photos and autographs.
