Let me just start by saying this: when you’ve already booked three cruises before Halloween even hits, you know you’re in a committed relationship. That’s me and Celebrity Cruises right now. It’s starting to feel like I’m going steady with a cruise line… LOL. I’ll be spending a week in October on the Celebrity Silhouette, then I’m spending 5 days over Thanksgiving and another 5 days in December on the Celebrity Summit. I’ve packed and unpacked my suitcase so many times this year, it’s starting to flirt with me.
So imagine my delight (and yes, I squealed out loud) when I opened the latest itinerary announcements from Celebrity and saw what’s coming in 2027–2028. Let me just say: if you’re a wanderlust-filled, culture-hungry, coastal-wine-sipping kind of cruiser like me, buckle up – or should I say, unpack, because what’s coming is next-level.
Celebrity’s calling it a season where “Nothing Comes Close”, and OMG, they’re not kidding. We’re talking Europe, Alaska, Japan, Hawaii, Australia, Canada, New England, and more than 175 different ways to say, “I’m on vacation and not answering emails.”
Let’s break it down, shall we?

Europe Is Having a Moment (and So Am I)
You know how you open your passport and immediately feel cooler? Multiply that by 90, because Celebrity is sending seven ships, including three Edge Series beauties—the Celebrity Xcel, Celebrity Ascent, and Celebrity Apex to explore over 90 European ports in 25 countries. That’s a lot of wine, cheese, museums, and chic little sidewalk cafés with terrible Wi-Fi and fabulous cappuccinos.
The itineraries are dripping with unreal detail:
-
Back-to-back sailings that let you hop from Portugal to Morocco to Greece like you’re starring in your own travel show.
-
60 overnight stays and 115+ 12-hour port days, so you don’t have to choose between a nap and another Aperol Spritz in Santorini.
-
New itineraries on Celebrity Xcel that sound like Mediterranean magic. Plus a return to Europe with the Bazaar, an immersive onboard destination experience I’m already mentally redecorating my house after.
Want to do the Greek Isles in shoulder season? Hello, Celebrity Infinity.
How about finally seeing Kotor, Montenegro or Brindisi, Italy? That’s Celebrity Constellation’s domain.
Feel like chasing Northern Lights and fjords from Southampton? I see you, Celebrity Apex.
There’s a ship, a route, and a whole new passport stamp waiting for all of us.

Alaska: Still Cool, Still Majestic (And My Husband’s Favorite Cruise EVER)
Listen, I’ve done tropical. I’ve done wine country. But Alaska? We’ve been there once (on another cruise line), and when we talk about travel, it always comes up. If you have a bucket list of things you’ve already done – Alaska is it for us (and for me it’s also Paris and Barcelona – but, that’s for another article).
Three Celebrity ships will sail Alaska, including the Edge, which, let’s be honest, is basically the spaceship of the cruise world. If you haven’t experienced an Edge-class ship, picture a spa with better views than your living room and food that makes you wonder why you ever thought land-based dining was fancy.
But Alaska isn’t just the ship. It’s the sheer drama of the landscape. Waterfalls. Bears. Ice so blue it makes your nail polish jealous. And Celebrity offers Cruisetours that take you deeper into the wild with local guides, real lodges, and once-in-a-lifetime rail journeys.
I mean, I love my Florida palm trees, but you can only see so many flamingos before you crave a glacier or two.

From Tokyo to Tahiti: It’s Not Just a Bucket List Anymore
One word: Japan.
The Celebrity Millennium will homeport from Narita, which is basically Tokyo’s backyard, and give you access to four overnight stays in Tokyo, Kyoto, Kobe, and Aomori. That means sushi, temples, sake, cherry blossoms, and yes, shopping—at night. There’s something absolutely electric about the idea of watching lanterns glow in Kyoto and still being back on the ship in time for dessert. FYI, I’ve flown into through Narita at least a half dozen times and never stepped foot outside the airport. Will this be the year?
Even better? You can sail during Gion Festival or Nebuta Festival, which are the kind of once-in-a-lifetime cultural experiences that make your phone camera beg for more storage.
Oh, and you want Hawaii? There are open-jaw sailings between Hawaii and the mainland. Think volcanic hikes by morning and beachside mai tais by sunset. Done and done.
Australia, New Zealand, and That Great Big Bucket List Energy
Let’s take a moment to appreciate that Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Solstice will return to Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific, bringing guests to 33 destinations that sound like a National Geographic cover.
- You want culture? Hit Adelaide.
You want reef snorkeling and sea turtles? Try Cairns.
You want sheep? You’ll see plenty in New Zealand, but also wine, fjords, hot springs, and nature that makes your Florida backyard look like a sandbox.
These ships make long-haul luxury look easy, and the itineraries give you time to really explore, not just wave from the port.

Canada & New England: Fall Colors, Coastal Charm, and No TSA Lines
You know I love a good shoulder-season escape, and if I’m not basking in the Med next fall, I might just hop aboard the Celebrity Silhouette and head north instead. Think lighthouses, lobster rolls, and the kind of small-town charm that pairs well with a knit sweater and a maple latte. For me, it’s home. I’m a New England gal at heart (after spending 50 years of my life there), but seeing it from a ship vs. day to day would be a whole new experience for me.
There are also sailings from Boston that offer overnight stays in Quebec City (hello, Europe-without-the-passport-stamp) and Cape Liberty itineraries to Bermuda that include double overnights. That’s two nights of pink sand, turquoise water, and every excuse to not check your inbox.
So… What’s Next?
I’ll tell you what’s next. I’m going to open my laptop, pour a coffee (or maybe a mimosa, depending on the time), and start plotting out my 2027–2028 cruise calendar like it’s my full-time job. Because honestly? It kind of is.
If you’re already a Celebrity fan like me, you know the hospitality is unmatched, the Edge Series ships are a dream, and the itineraries make you feel like you’ve lived a dozen lives in one week. But if you’re new to Celebrity – well, first of all, welcome. You’re going to love it here.
Just ask my suitcase. She’s already getting ready for 2027.
