Bare Skin – scent appeal

I have a question for you? Do you have a signature scent?

For the past 2 or 3 years I have had what I consider to be my signature scent. For me, it evokes powerful emotions and memories. There’s something about surrounding yourself with a perfume or cologne that makes you FEEL BEAUTIFUL and reminds you of something that get’s you emotionally charged.

With so many fragrances to choose from it’s HARD to figure out WHICH ONE is THE ONE. Mine was easy (more about that another time), because it is a smell that reminds me of Paris. That doesn’t mean that I wear it EVERY day. That would be boring (not just for me but for those who come in contact with me regularly).

I was recently sent a sample of Leslie Blodgett’s Perfume Diaries Bare Skin. Exclusive to Sephora, this new fragrance debuted only a few weeks ago and I’ve been wearing it as my casual scent. I’ve been a fan of Ms. Blodgett’s Bare Esscentuals Mineral Makeup for about a year now, and I must say that the addition of this fragrance is in line with her concept of the natural look (and now scent).

Bare Skin, the first scent in the series, is reminiscent of an experience during a trip to Mexico, where Leslie cart-wheeled fancy-free down a sunny beach while emanating true, unbridled joy. “When I have an experience, I like to have a scent behind it. Bare Skin, which is what Mexico reminds me of, is the way you feel when the sun is beating down on you during the day, but then you go out at night and you’re still sizzling from the warmth of the day which mingles with the night air and the music.”

I find it to be very light and comfortable for daytime wear. Not overly floral, quite the opposite really it’s a warm, romantic scent that is a bit woody. With the holidays around the corner, Bare Skin would make a nice gift.

Bare Skin is available in ~

  • Bare Skin Eau de Parfum 1.7oz ($55)
  • Bare Skin Solid Perfume Compact ($35)
  • Bare Skin Perfumed Body Cream ($30)

My suggestion is that you give yourself a spritz of the new Bare Skin the next time you’re in a Sephora store. That’s the BEST way to tell whether this is a scent that will put a smile on your face.

Thank you to Leslie Blodgett’s Perfume Diary for sending me a sample of Bare Skin to review. I was not compensated for this post and all opinions are strictly my own.

I'm actually picky about my scents but I'm dying to find new ones and you surely can't go wrong at Sephora LOL!

That's true. Have fun shopping. Sephora can be DANGEROUS for me (and my wallet).
