And as far as the Guadalupe Mountains go, there are plenty of far-reaching views across the southwest that will take your breath away.

Texas is generally scorching hot during June, July, August, September, and October, so you’re going to want to plan any hiking or outdoor camping with the temperature in mind.

It’s probably best to bring an RV that quite naturally has air conditioning, or to simply have a portable AC unit you can easily hook up for any tent setup.

You might not think of Texas as being abundant with water, but there’s a lot of natural rivers and coastline to go around!
Indeed, spending any time in East Texas means you’ll never be more than a couple of hours away from the Gulf of Mexico.
