No, this is NOT the voice of a child who doesn’t want to go to bed, it’s post-menopausal me. Ever since “the change” I’ve gone from someone who could fall asleep easily and stay asleep without interruption to an insomniac.
The proof of a fitful night.
Thinking that I might be able to get help, I asked Dr. P what I could do. Over a course of a year I tried.
- Sleeping pills - only to have a VERY BAD reaction
- Melatonin - woke up with horrible nightmares

I knew that our bedframe was also old and bent (with BOARDS to keep it from falling – see my fitful picture), so I opted to add one of the Motion Perfect® Adjustable Foundation . I was thinking about getting a serta mattress anyways, coincidence? Maybe so.. I went to the doctor to discuss my lack of sleep every night and she gave me some antidepressants and told me that I am going through a menopause stage because I am over 50, well when I got home I through those pills out–not me I said, this isn’t the problem. But I never thought that it could be my bed. But I don’t make enough money to buy that sleep number bed that I saw at a bedding store. Every night covers on and covers off, hot one minute and then cold the next minute, covers on, covers off, tv on and then tv off, on again and then get up and go get something to eat from the kitchen and then sit up–this is not good, it’s after midnight, I shouldn’t be eating this late and then it really will be time for me to get up soon, what sleep have I acquired, not much, God give me the strength to make it through the day. This not sleeping sucks, and it has for a few years now and I have tried different things to no avail, can’t drink the milk because I am lactose intolerant, wow and that sucks but God is still good no matter what. So I read my Bible late at night, eat, covers on, covers off, this way and that way, tv on and tv off, on again. This win will be a blessed miracle for me, thanks.

This would be so awesome. My husband and I sleep on 2 twin beds. They are 20 yrs old, i think they may be one of the first models of the adjustable beds ever made. They weight 500 lbs seems like. They have other ppls stains( the ppl that had them had leakage problems and bless they souls died on them) on them. I had a hysterectomy a few years ago…I never knew that I’d have so many issues after the fact.:) I am now 31 years old and I can not for the life of me get a good nights sleep. I would love to try one of these for my husband. He was injured while on active duty with the Air Force and has had 2 surgeries on his back now. This is wonderful – thanks for the information. I’m only 18, but I have SOO much trouble sleeping at night from a combination of feeling too hot and severe back pain. I’ve had issues with falling asleep since I was just a little kid, but now I can’t stay asleep for very long and also find myself waking up at 5 am every day unable to fall back asleep. I’ve been looking for a new bed that could at least help with the pain and maybe help me sleep, but I didn’t realize one could make such a difference with the temperature too! I would be thrilled to have one. I wish I could afford it! I’ll keep looking for an alternative to my current bed, which is, don’t scold me, a futon.

Wow, Zippy, that looks like a cool bed! I need this. Well, actually, my husband and I both need it. Our mattress was bought in 1993! How many years is that? 22 years? HOLY CRAP! Yeah, we need a new one.
But beyond the age of our bed, it’s the fact that my husband broke his tailbone and has been in severe pain ever since. There is NO SURGERY that can fix it. Chiropractic care helps, but paying $60 a week for the treatments is a little too expensive for us right now.

WOW!! I wouldn’t know how to act on a decent mattress. The cotton is worn slam out in my old pad. The stripes have even faded completely out of the cloth. I hate to tell you what shape my pillers are in,with the feathers creeping out the corners.

I have a very bad back, and I can’t tell you the last time I had a restful nights sleep! I’ve tried sleep medicines, and also the egg crate thing, feather beds, etc. NOTHING works! I would be so grateful to win this mattress. I’m honestly out of ideas! And sadly, I have no medical insurance, so healing my back would really start with a healthy mattress. This bed sounds awesome! My bed is over 15 years old and I prop myself up to sleep at night and wake up all night long because i’m uncomfortable or have to sit back up. This bed sounds great!
I’ve had my old Serta mattress for over 35 yrs. and could certainly use a new mattress! It’s pretty sad when one wakes up in the middle of the night to push metal back in the mattress!!!

I don’t know where to begin….ok ..I have been dealing w/ …like so many others….lower back problems since i was 15. Some days are better than others. My hubby is now working 3rd shift and having a hard time sleeping. The mattress we have is from some store in Florida and we’ve had it for 4 yrs…..it sags in the middle as do alot of them, but has lost it’s comfort. I could keep going but here’s my idea….if more people had a better sleep and woke up in a good mood because they weren’t in pain (due to a bad mattress not helping any ailments), the world would be a happier place and more work would get done and more hugs would be able to be given!

I tried the iComfort in Sears about 3 weeks ago when looking at mattresses. It was incredible. I felt so comfortable laying on it in the store. I need to buy a new mattress eventually as mine is 13 years old and has springs popping out. I also am so uncomfortable in my bed as I get so hot and the bed is very firm other than a major sag in the middle of the mattress. Even my cats hate it. PLEASE select me so I can have a GREAT night’s sleep.

This mattress sound like it could be a life saver. Night sweats are so horrible I have a waterproof pad on my bed. Most mattress if I lay longer than 4 hrs tends to make my joints hurt or my feet ache. I have been looking along time for a mattress that will help me sleep all night and provide great support with a decent warranty. IComfort sounds like a winner.

I’ve suffered from insomnia and it is just horrible. The times where I was able to sleep I have woken up because the bed was uncomfortable. As mom of kids aged 10 months to 10 yrs a good night’s sleep is invaluable. This woman’s story of a restful night sounds wonderful. So glad she was able to get one. I chuckled a little when she said Mr. S got into the new bed, too. I can see my husband also moving the tv into our room if it was comfy enough!

i have so much trouble with mattresses. i’m only 23 but i have a slipped disk and i’m constantly hot then freezing then hot again. then my mattress is too soft then too firm. i’m always turning over trying to find THE place where i can fall asleep and stay asleep. i can so use one of these.

I’ve been dealing with menopause since the age of 27 years old. Every symptom you can have, I have experienced. Out of all the aggravating symptoms menopausal symptoms we all go through, is not being able to get a good night’s sleep – which, ultimately, the effects of the lack of sleep affects us the next day… which leads to a pattern of always being tired. I really NEED a new bed because I Don’t Have One!! 3 years ago I had to leave my home and hometown because of abuse. I had to leave in the middle of the night and leave everything behind; since then I have been homeless and couch surfing. I would love to win! I’m sad to say, my husband and I have never owned a NEW mattress. Every time we get ready to buy one, someone gives one to us. We thought we were saving money, but we have had a king, then 2 queens, and now a full. We have spent a fortune on sheet sets and comforters! To top it all off, hand-me-down mattresses are usually not long lasting and we have already imprinted our bodies into our most recent. I had surgery not too long ago and couldn’t roll out of bed because I was literally stuck in a hole!

Gosh, this is going to sound so contrived, but it’s all true. Last October I woke up one day, and my right foot and leg didn’t work. Very long story short, within a week, I had open back surgery, and since then I can hardly move.
In January of this year, my husband had a severe stroke. While he works hard at getting better, sadly he’s seen very little improvement in his right arm, although his walking is improving.
Because of our sudden disabilities, we are barely struggling by, (as I know alot of Americans are) Even though we have little income, I’ve had to hire a housekeeper because I am unable to stand long enough to even wash the dishes.
This bed would provide so much comfort for us. It would be like a miracle for my back. I sleep on an ice pack right now. And, would comfort my husband greatly to be able to get in and out of bed with more ease. I am so grateful to have a chance to own this great comfort.

We’ve never had a new bed…always hand me downs. Usually we have to put clothes between the mattress and box springs to fill in the lumps my 6’8″ 250lb brother has made. But it was better than the one before. One time we actually were able to get a new mattress but my mother-in-law’s bed was worse than ours so we gave it to her. I know I’m really late commenting on this blog, but I just had to. haha, you had me laughing through and through. has Mr. S left the bed yet? My husband is twice my size and with a bad back and the crappy mattress we have now, I’m looking into the icomfort. Please tell me that is still works like a charm for you after 10 months of use.
